At the moment, I currently use D3DGear for my video capturing, but the video footage always seems a bit choppy at times, especially when I'm trying to record shooter games like TF2 and such. Does anyone else have this same problem, and what did you do to fix it?

Or, is there a cheap recording software that's better for games like that?

What codec are you using to record? I had similar problems in the past when using the H.264 codec. I started using the Fast Motion JPEG codec and any choppiness/artifacts disappeared.
